The melatonin prescribing guidance for children and young adults replaces the ‘melatonin – sleep disorders in children and adolescents’ shared care agreement. However, children and adolescents who have been treated in accordance with the previous shared care i.e. melatonin modified release tablets (Circadin), will continue with their treatment. At their next review with the specialist, the treatment will be reviewed and changed, where clinically appropriate to an approved licensed formulation in line with SWL formulary
